Issues

Issues are what matters in politics. Or at least they are what should matter.

I wrote a long column about the importance of issues during the last election here in the Lancaster News. The summary is pretty straightforward: the key issues in this campaign are 1) jobs & the economy, 2) taxes & spending, and 3) education. But there was obviously more to it than that…there were actually real ideas about how we can improve in those areas.

I hope you get a chance to read it. Somebody wrote me and said it was the best article they had seen from a politician in 20 years.

Over the last three years (I served in the SC House in 2006-2008) I've written various summaries on "How I Voted," which you will find below. There are also some “Issues” that, although they haven't come up for a vote, are still important to talk about.
