"Old-fashioned conservative values...and a new way of thinking for a modern S.C."
Thanks for taking the time to visit my website.
I have tried to accomplish something that I wish more elected leaders would do with “new media”: use it to help inform people about what issues are being debated in your government, and also to explain where I stand on those issues So, you will find a couple of resources here that I hope you find important.
On the Legislative Update page you will find a list of topics that either have been or are being considered by the state legislature. If you click on a particular topic, you will find what I hope you find to be a well-reasoned articulation of the issue, where I stand on it, and why. From time-to-time I try to update those pages so that you can know what happened when those issues came up for a vote.
In the top right sidebar you will also find links to my past newspaper columns that cover a wider scope of topics, from energy policy to Republicans who vote like Democrats. I write a regularly monthly column for the Fort Mill Times and the Carolina Gateway News, an occasional column for The Lancaster News, and have also been published in newspapers from around the state. I also write occasional letters to constituents, either in small groups or larger mailings. Most of those materials are also posted here. If I haven’t covered a topic that is important to you here, or if you have found one of my explanations lacking, please let me know
I don’t believe that I have the right to expect people to agree with my positions all of the time – nor do I think folks have a right to expect me to agree with them all of the time. However, what you do have a right to expect from me is an honest and straightforward explanation of where I stand. And that is what I hope this website accomplishes.
The website also does some other things, as well. You can find information about me and my background, along with information about District. And, as this is American politics in the 21st century, there is also a page where you can volunteer or contribute to my efforts.
Thanks again for being interested enough in the political process to stop by the website. I hope you will find it worth your while.
And thank you as always for allowing me to be your representative in Columbia.
